Insight, evidence and understanding for today's crime and security challenges
We will team members of South Wales Police, local authority practitioners and industry representatives with social science and computer science academics from Cardiff University and the University of South Wales, bringing together subject matter experts from multiple sectors. Teams will “hack” current challenges to policing, based on the following key areas:
The purpose of the event is to create a space for innovative, creative problem solving.
Data will be provided to each team, as well as the expectation that partner agencies bring their own data to complement this. Teams will have 24 hours to put together a presentation suggesting ways to improve their chosen problem. They will deliver their ideas to the judging panel during lunchtime on Wednesday 25th. There will be a prize awarded to the winning idea(s), to develop the idea further.
