Dyfed Powys Performance

Funder: Dyfed Powys Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

The Universities’ Police Science Institute (UPSI) were commissioned by the Dyfed Powys Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to undertake data analysis on the performance of Dyfed Powys police force relative to other forces.  This work focused on:

  • Police recorded incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour;
  • Public perceptions of victimisation and local policing;
  • The distribution of crime and anti-social behaviour within the force area.

These areas were addressed using official statistics on recorded crime, force-area data from the Crime Survey for England and Wales and police data from Dyfed Powys Police.  The report highlighted trends over time, performance outcomes where Dyfed Powys deviated significantly from the average and geographical hotspots of crime associated with area type.
